This weekend my husband and I got away for 24 hours without the kids. We drove to Castle Hill in Newport and it was the perfect place to go for one night. We arrived in the afternoon and we enjoyed complimentary afternoon tea with lots of delicious goodies.
It was a cold November day so we enjoyed tea by the fireplace and it was so cozy and relaxing. We then went up to our room which was so adorable and had a view of the water.
This was the end of restaurant week in Newport so you could choose from a three course or five course meal with great deals on wine. Everything was beyond delicious and the service was impeccable.
After dinner we enjoyed some wine in the old bar which was the perfect place to hang out after dinner. They have a wide selection of signature old fashion cocktails and an extensive wine list.
The next day we enjoyed breakfast overlooking the water and once again had a delicious meal. It was the perfect end to our night away. This blog post isn’t sponsored, I just wanted to share our experience here because it was an easy, nice, romantic place to go. If you live in NYC, or Fairfield county or even Boston, I highly recommend going here if you can get a night away without your kids. Newport is also a great little town but we never left the inn. All I wanted to do was drink wine by the fire and talk to my husband without someone asking me to get them a million things.
